I'm looking at material properties for metals, and I don't see the word compression anywhere. I do see "yield strength" and "bearing strength" and "ultimate tensile strength".

Does ultimate mean the maximum elastic tensile strength, or does it mean the maximum plastic tensile strength?

Is modulus of elasticity the same in compression and tension? I would think it would be at least initially, at least if it is a latice material. Or is the modulus the average of the two?

Does elongation at failure mean at breakage, or when it has stretched enough that it can't spring back to its original shape?
