How much better is an airplane engine than a chain saw engine?

Chain saw engines can be had for $150-$250. 10 hp.

Is horsepower the main difference? Lifespan?

How much quieter are 4 cycle engines than 2 cycle? And how much heavier? I know power to weight varies depending on the motor though.

And one thing I hate about using engines, is you have to store a gas tank, and smell it in your car or house.

Just looking into my options in case my human powered vehicle is too weak.
