There is some information about the Smith Termite in the EAA Handbook on Woodworking. How about the Fisher Dakota Hawk. Kit or plans built.

Hmm, let me see, what to suggest...how about a Clutton FRED (my site)!?! Inexpensive folding wings, VW power and the Walter Mitty look all rolled in to one.

You might also want to take a look at the Pietenpol Sky Scout if you are set on a single-seater, plans available from the Pietenpol family and inspiration in the EAA reprints of the Flying and Glider Manuals.

There are a number of two-seaters that might also fit the bill if you wanted to go that way--Pietenpol Air Camper, for example--though some like the Pober Junior Ace are of mixed construction with wood wings and welded steel fuselage.

    Cheers,

Also the 1835 cc , VW powered, single seat Cub in the picture on the left. Fisher is planning on putting it out in a Kit, so what I have been told by Fisher. 150 HP Super Cub performance. Its really a Super Koala narrowed to single place, but built to the dimensions of the Koala 202, for the Cub look.
