Everyone makes there own special recipe of what ever to fill , fair . or stick something to something else !
The most common ingredients are what ever resin you have and are using to make what ever and a concoction of secret mixing bags of stuff that the supplier told you about !
There's one that hardly no one mention and can be that one thing that helps to hold everything together and prevent yu mix from cracking !! Its called MILLED FIBRE !!Little short glass strands add into your mix and prevents cracking and makes it much stronger specially with glue mixes and can be added to the cotton fibre that usually used .
Carbosill is a thickening agent only and adds no strength at all !!!
Q cells are to bulk up a mix and should only be use as a fairing compound only !
again makes a brittle mix If its laid thick and in bulk !! and if you stick anything it could all off !!!
Glues can be made from resin , milled cotton ,milled glass fibre, and lastly carbosill with a little talc powder added to thicken to the consistency you require !!
Before you mix the hardener in let it stand for a hour or so to make sure all the ingreadiance are properly soaked with resin! then mix in the hardener !!
If you have a lot of gluing then mix a quantity and keep in a air tight container and take out just what's needed each time !!
