Does anyone have experience in designing air motors? I need a light weight 3-5 hp air motor (runs on compressed air).

All of the typical air motor on the market (Atlas copco, Gardner Denver, IR, Desoutter,...) are ok in weight up until 1.5 hp and then become very heavy. Most manufacturers design light weight for the hand held units and then forget about weight once the power is higher than what can be hand held. The prices ($1800-2700) are very high also.

The motor is for aux power on a new seaplane / roadable airplane design.
