I viewed some videos recently of STOL / Bush operations of the Mission Aviation Fellowship and noted the (rather massive) "gravel deflectors" they attached to their naked Cessna 206 main landing gear. Also shown was the very beat up leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer.

I was wondering if the spray pattern was somewhat localized and if it might just miss a V-Tail if the surfaces are a lot higher up or within the main gear wheels?

Thanks in advance.

Blue skies,

Tom
