I am building a VolksPlane-2 and have heard the aileron control tends to be "heavy". I am concidering adding spades to the aileron balance horns to help with this problem. It seems like a good/simple idea but I only know enough about aerodynamics to be a danger to myself. I would still add the appropriate weight to static balance the ailerons. Any aeronautical engineers care to comment? Am I setting the stage for aileron flutter? I attached a photo of an example of what I'm refering to. If I did the modification it would be a simple flat plate rather than an airfoil.
