I've been looking on info about how to design a composite landing gear and found those two articles on coil springs in the other thread. But what I am interested in is leaf springs, so I thought I would start another thread.

This paper talks about how to make a hybrid carbon/glass mono-leaf spring. You have to pay to see the whole thing, but they do give a preview of the first 2 pages.

Yes, I know, the "composite police" are going to jump all over this:uzi::hammer:----you can't mix materials or the universe will collapse:gig:. But the authors seem to think that it is OK for a ground vehicle, so why not an aeroplane:ermm:?
